Slow Cooker Buffalo Chicken was one of my top choices. Slow-cooked chicken is rich, tender, spicy, tangy and rich. There are many ways to use it. Sandwiches, dips, salads, pizza, and more. Below is a complete list of making this delicious shredded buffalo chicken. This is something I guarantee you will want to make again and again during football season and holidays.

What is BUFFALO SAUCE?

Buffalo Sauce, an American classic, is a mixture of butter and hot sauce, which creates a rich, tangy and spicy sauce that can be used to coat chicken. We’ve added ranch seasoning to this slow cooker buffalo chicken. This is a delicious combination of buttermilk powder and herbs. Ranch seasoning gives the sauce a big burst in flavour and makes it even creamier. This sauce is simply divine!

HOW TO USE HOT SAUCE

Buffalo sauce is typically made with Frank’s Red Hot Sauce. However, you can substitute any vinegar-based cayenne-flavoured hot sauce to make this recipe. It was delicious!

CAN I SUBSTITUTE THE RANG MIX?

Ranch seasoning is a great addition to this sauce. I recommend using it as often as possible. You can use one packet of ranch seasoning powder if you don’t own the ingredients to make it yourself. You can also use your herbs or spices, but not the buttermilk powder. This will still taste great, though slightly less rich.

HOW TO USE A SLOW COOKER BUFFALO CHICKEN

Now, let’s get to the fun part. What can you do with this delicious shredded chicken buffalo? There are so many ways to use this delicious shredded buffalo chicken. Here are some suggestions:

  • For a buffalo chicken wrap or sandwich: tortilla or bun, coleslaw or pickles, ranch dressing
  • Nachos: On tortilla chips with lettuce, shredded carrot and ranch dressing
  • Stir cream cheese in the shredded chicken for a creamy buffalo chicken dip.
  • Make a quesadilla by filling a tortilla with the chicken, shredded Monterey Jack cheese and toasting it in a skillet.
  • Place the chicken on a crisp iceberg for a salad and top it with chopped celery, shredded carrots, and blue cheese dressing.
  • Pizza: Add it to a pizza using a white sauce. After baking, top it with some mozzarella and ranch.

Just typing that out makes my mouth water! This stuff is amazing.

Servings: Each 1/2 cup

INGREDIENTS

RANG SEASONING*

  • 2 Tbsp buttermilk Powder ($0.15)
  • 1/2 tsp dried parsley ($0.05)
  • 1/4 teaspoon dried dill ($0.03)
  • 1/4 teaspoon onion powder ($0.02)
  • 1/8 teaspoon garlic powder ($0.02)
  • 1/4 tsp lemon pepper ($0.02)
  • 1/8 tsp sugar ($0.01)
  • 1/8 tsp salt ($0.01)
  • 1/8 teaspoon freshly cracked black pepper ($0.01)

BUFFALO CHICKEN

  • 12 oz. hot sauce ($2.19)
  • 2 lbs. Chicken breasts ($9.53)
  • 4 Tbsp Butter ($0.40).

INSTRUCTIONS

  • In a bowl, combine the ranch seasoning (buttermilk, parsley, dill and garlic powder, lemon pepper and salt) with the hot sauce.
  • Place the breasts of chicken in the bottom and sides of a slow cooker, 3 quarts or larger. Place the butter in small pieces on top of the chicken. Spread the hot sauce mixture on top of the butter and chicken.
  • Cover the slow cooker with a lid and let it cook on low heat for 4 hours. Two forks are sufficient to shred the chicken after four hours. If it isn’t tender enough, you can cook it longer.
  • The sauce and shredded chicken can be used in sandwiches, quesadillas and on top of salads and nachos. It can also be used as a dip with chips and crackers.
